A dua (from the Arabic دُعَاء) is a supplication addressed directly to Allah. Unlike the ritual prayer (salat) which follows a precise format, dua is a free act of worship: the believer can call upon Allah at any time, in any language, to ask for help, protection, or express gratitude. Supplications hold a central place in Islam, as they nourish the personal bond between the servant and the Creator.

Why teach duas to children?

Learning supplications from an early age helps children develop daily spiritual awareness. Each dua linked to a specific moment of the day (waking up, eating, sleeping) transforms ordinary actions into acts of faith. It is a simple habit that stays with the child throughout life.

  • Anchor spirituality in everyday actions (eating, sleeping, leaving the house)
  • Develop memory through repetition of short Arabic texts
  • Strengthen the feeling of protection and trust in Allah
  • Create soothing family rituals (morning and evening dua together)
  • Prepare the child for understanding the Quran and prayer
