Mankind
•6 verses
A surah of 6 verses whose classification (Meccan or Medinan) is debated among scholars, An-Nas is the last surah of the Quran and the second of the two protective surahs. It completes Al-Falaq by imploring divine protection.
An-Nas seeks refuge with Allah, the King and God of mankind, against the evil of the retreating whisperer (Shaytan) who whispers into the hearts of people, whether jinn or human.
Teach An-Nas to your child as a daily protection and explain that when they feel afraid, they can recite this surah to feel safe with Allah.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,
The Sovereign of mankind,
The God of mankind,
From the evil of the retreating whisperer1 -
Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind -
From among the jinn and mankind."1
