The Sincerity
•4 verses
A Meccan surah of 4 verses, Al-Ikhlas is considered equivalent to one-third of the Quran according to a hadith of the Prophet (Bukhari and Muslim). It was revealed in response to the polytheists who asked for a description of Allah.
Al-Ikhlas defines pure monotheism (Tawhid): Allah is One, Eternal, He begets not nor was He begotten, and there is nothing comparable to Him.
Al-Ikhlas is one of the first surahs to teach a child. Recite it together 3 times after each prayer as the Prophet recommended.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Say, "He is Allāh, [who is] One,1
Allāh, the Eternal Refuge.1
He neither begets nor is born,
Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
